The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious threat to the lives of people across the globe. We take this moment to acknowledge the grief felt by families and communities. We continue to think of all those experiencing the loss of a loved one during this difficult time.
As the virus spread to every corner of the globe, we started to think about how this would impact the children living in our orphanages and enrolled in our programs. Children have had to change the way they learn and play. This is increasingly difficult for children in countries such as Nepal and India, where they may not have access to useful online learning tools. Mannkind took the initiative to ensure no child under our care would have their health, education, and development negatively impacted by this pandemic.
We have created a set of guidelines that must be followed at our projects. This includes maintaining social distancing and wearing masks when going in the public for necessities, such as groceries, washing hands often, and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces. All of the children have been equipped with the necessary tools to have online classes. Fortunately, we have had no cases of COVID-19 at any of our projects.
