Mannkind supported Balagurukulam Orphanage in Chennai, India, for several years to make it a self-sufficient operation. Mannkind funded their education, clothing, and lodging, including building brand new premises, a fully equipped garden where they grow their food, and a brand new school built right next to it with an expansive library and a computer room. The children at Balagurukulam are trained in yoga, meditation, and philosophy in addition to their regular education so that they grow to be well-informed and well-rounded citizens.
