Children
The Children Welfare and Rural Development Services Program offers daycare, primary education, and protection services to children whose parents work in local factories. These factories offer deplorable working conditions and even worse wages, so while the majority of the children at this facility do have parents, their parents struggle daily to make ends meet.
On occasion, when the facility had been able to afford it or if a donation had been made, they would try to incorporate breakfast or lunch meals for the children as many of them would come to the centre hungry and without any food. Mannkind has initiated a meal program for each student at the centre and has also fully funded the program so that it may continue into the future.
Before our involvement, the facility was void of any toys or play areas. Since play is such an integral component of a child’s development and happiness, we created a playground for the children.
