The Future Hope Orphanage was run single-handedly by a young woman, Rita Shiwakoti, in her twenties. When she was asked whether she is planning on doing anything else in the future, perhaps pursue further education, move away, or start a family of her own, she responded that the children that she takes care of are her future. 

On her own, she had been struggling to make ends meet for some time. The facility had many children, but few beds, so many of them were shared. For pillows, they had emptied bags of rice and flour and stuffed them with newspapers for cushioning. 

Mannkind Charity now covers costs associated with rent, medical needs, education, and any other needs of the children.
